Are you living your dream life?

Don’t worry if you are not as most people are not.
I have a niece and 3 nephews whom are just like my children. They mean so much to me and I want them to live fully in whatever it is they decide to do.
Christopher, the oldest, is quite the humanitarian in his work leading people quietly through integrity and love. He naturally comes by this as this has always been his dream … to lead with heart and be a part of a team consciously living life. He is doing this now and continues to grow into it even more.
Mary Catherine, my beautiful niece, had a dream of helping the world. Her way to do this was to attend the Air Force Academy. She had this dream from as early as 8 years old. She made it happen and is now serving her country living outside of London with her husband, Matt – also a member of the Air Force. She decided for her dream and made it happen.
Brad, the middle nephew, has always wanted to make movies … just like Stephen Spielberg. He is now in production for his first film — The Apology Service. He is working on this with another classmate and loves every minute of it. He dreamed it and is making it happen.
Ethan, the last but not least, has always dreamed of adventure and challenges helping others to step outside their comfort zone to live life fully. He loves the outdoors, adventuring to places he has dreamed of going, and helping others to go there with him – stretching and growing. We will be going to Machu Picchu in June to do just that!
Everyone has a dream in life. The question becomes not “how” but “do” you make this dream come true for you. Let’s look at some steps to make this happen.
3 Steps to Living Your Dream:

  1. Discovery – your first assignment is to rediscover your reason for being in this life. We are all born into this life with a “purpose” (a gift to give to the world – that which gets us up and going every day). It is a process in rediscovering this purpose and knowing that this is your “why” to everyday living.
  2. Understand – knowing that your dream comes from your purpose and is not separate. The “what” of your life is your dream or your passion in life. When you are able to define what you would love your life to be and are able to write it down as if it is already happening, then life begins to open up to you on a different level. It is as if the blinders have been removed and you can see so much more in life.
  3. Declaration – claiming your dream as your own – to yourself and to others – is freedom. You have suddenly decided for the life you are meant to live and begin to get into the “how” of this dream. You choose whom to tell this dream to (those who support you in it and not the ones who will dismiss your dream). Then you begin to act upon the ideas that come to you (and ideas will come – don’t ignore these ideas) so that you can take action upon your dream.

These are not easy steps and they can be done. I do this work with clients all the time. I do this for my niece and nephews – supporting them in all their endeavors and dreams, helping them to achieve clarity in whatever they want to do. Once you make a decision for your dream, life happens for you to achieve it. Just make that choice!
